Jet2holidays.com supports good education for kids

Jet2holidays.com, the fastest-growing tour operator in the North of England, is the first tour operator to introduce heavy child discounts throughout the year including school holidays. It is offering parents the chance to book kids places from as little as £49 meaning fewer kids will miss valuable term time.

The Jet2holidays.com family site has been launched in response to criticism aimed at tour operators for raising prices around school breaks – forcing parents to take their children out of school. Jet2holidays.com is bucking the trend by allowing families to benefit by extending their massive child discounts throughout the year from now until 31 October to include school holiday periods.

The offer, available on breaks departing from any of the six airports Jet2holidays.com operates from, follows last month’s deal to reduce deposits by two-thirds to £50 per booking – further bringing down the cost of family holidays.

Mandy Round, General Manager at Jet2holidays.com, said: “Despite the reported credit crunch, holidays still appear to be at the front of consumers’ minds, so we aim to make these much valued breaks away as accessible and affordable for everyone.

“What’s more, in response to widespread criticism of the industry last year regarding prices during school holidays, we are keen to stop kids missing crucial education time by ensuring cheaper places are available during school breaks.

“It is important to listen to what consumers want and a common request is for cheaper trips abroad for families. Therefore, we have responded by launching family holidays with £49 kid’s places, right up to the end of October this year.

“The deal will even be available during school holidays, which we believe is a huge attraction to families on a budget. What’s more, we have also combined low, £50 per person deposits.”

The company is offering family breaks from as little as £417 for two adults and one child travelling to Majorca in October self catering. A similar holiday to the same destination is also available priced from £677 in August during the school holidays. Both sample holidays include the child’s place at £49.

Family holidays are available 1 April to 31 October, 2008.
