bmi increase service to Barbados

bmi, one of the UK’s largest scheduled airlines, has increased its direct service from Manchester to Barbados to three times a week, in time for the Cricket World Cup and the PGA World Golf Championship.

The flights will depart three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays until April 2007 to offer more choice to increased numbers of passengers who will be travelling to Barbados for the sporting events and winter sun over the next few months.

Passengers travelling to Barbados can choose from three cabins onboard the A330 airbus– the business, premium economy and economy. Each cabin offers award winning service, adjustable seats boasting generous leg room, excellent in-flight entertainment including a wealth of movies, TV and audio channels, and a selection of international and modern cuisine.

For those who are not sports fans but keen to take advantage of these additional scheduled flights, Barbados has an endless string of beautiful sandy beaches and clear blue sea. Golf fans can practice their swing on a number of world-class courses and the island also offers great opportunities for exploring, scuba diving and duty free shopping.

The PGA World Golf Championship runs from 7th – 10th December at the world famous Sandy Lane Resort. The Cricket World Cup opens March 11th 2007 in the Caribbean and takes place in Barbados and Antigua, another destination reached directly by bmi.

Barbados is a very popular destination for winter sun and the sporting activity promises to be exciting for all enthusiasts. These increased flights were essential to ensure that customers had the greatest amount of choice, flexibility and efficiency on the flights.”

To celebrate the launch, three former international cricketers join bmi’s Brie Harris; Darren Lehmann and Jason Gillespie played for Australia and Craig White played for England.
