Daily & direct flights from Leeds Bradford to Copenhagen

19th March 2007 Print
When bmi regional launches a new route from Leeds Bradford to Copenhagen on 26 March, it will be the Danish capital’s 11th UK destination. The service will be the only non-stop air link between Leeds and Copenhagen.

bmi regional, officially the UK’s most punctual and reliable airline, has announced a major expansion programme for Summer 2007. The full service, all-jet, regional carrier is taking its total fleet up to 20 aircraft and will boost its links created from Leeds Bradford airport with the rest of continental Europe – including a brand new daily service to the Danish capital of Copenhagen.

Henrik Kahn, Director of VisitDenmark UK & Ireland, says: “It is great to see an airline that has the confidence to increase its fleet size to serve its existing routes and to add some exciting new destinations to its portfolio. Naturally, we are thrilled that Copenhagen is among the new. bmi regional has got a very fine reputation within the industry, especially in terms of punctuality and is also a very pro-active market player. With Leeds located centrally and being the 3rd largest city in the UK with more than 700,000 inhabitants, it’s a city and region that we have long wanted to add onto our list of ‘places to promote’ in Denmark.”

bmi regional’s new service from Leeds will be attractive to leisure and business travellers alike. It is expected that many UK passengers from this part of the country will not only use the new connection to Copenhagen to visit the capital of “The happiest people in world” itself, with forthcoming events like the Copenhagen Catwalk, Copenhagen Architecture & Design Days and Copenhagen Jazz Festival on its agenda, but also as an attractive international hub to the rest of Scandinavia and the Baltics.
