Tickle your taste buds in Tasmania

Food consultant Helen Waterworth and Peter Bourne, otherwise known as Sydney’s Wine Man, will take guests on a mouth-watering culinary journey.
Now in its thirteenth year, Tastings at the Top has become synonymous with Tasmania’s reputation as a gastronomic haven.
“Tastings at the Top has grown in popularity over the years and it’s easy to see why,” said Cradle Mountain Lodge general manager Rod Stendrup. “When you mix the best food Tasmania has to offer with a healthy dash of superb wines, all served up in the spectacular setting of Cradle Mountain Lake St Claire National Park, Tastings at the Top really is the best recipe for discovering the island's many and varied delights.”
Providores displaying their wares this year include boutique cheese producers Heidi Farm, Elgaar Farm and Tasmanian Highland Cheese, inland salmon farm 41 Degrees South and Springfield Deer Farm, in addition to a host of emerging specialty producers. All this can be washed down with a top quality range of wines, including Tamar Ridge, Devil’s Corner, Pirie Estate and Hardy’s Bay of Fires.
“From degustation dinners and lively cooking demonstrations, to wilderness walks and fly-fishing tutorials, Tastings at the Top encompasses the very best of Tasmania,” Stendrup added.
Guests will also have time to explore the stunning countryside surrounding Cradle Mountain Lodge, with activities including fly-fishing tutorials in pristine mountain streams, hiking and indulgent therapies at the Waldheim Alpine Spa – all designed to build up a healthy appetite.
Four-night (minimum stay) packages for Tastings at the Top start from $1,330 per person twin share in a Pencil Pine cabin at Cradle Mountain Lodge. The package includes a daily full buffet breakfast, and all scheduled events, dinners, workshops and activities, as well as gala food and wine dinners.
