The re-opening of the hotel saw the launch of the hotels new restaurant and bar “number forty”. number forty, is managed by Restaurant Manager Drieck Nýdam and offers a contemporary and relaxed feel, utilising a combination of seasonal, Scottish produce. The Head Chef, Craig Hart has an excellent appreciation of Scotland's larder. The menu, brimming with fresh local produce is prepared with great passion and imaginative culinary flair. The hotel restaurant has won many accolades, including two AA rosettes and enjoys spectacular views overlooking St.Andrews renowned West Sands.

The extensive menu includes starters of Carpaccio of Venison with Wild Rocket Salad or Chicken Consommé with Wild Mushroom Ravioli and Tarragon, mains of Loin of Spring Lamb served with Fresh Spinach and Thyme Jus or Pan fried Halibut with Salsa Verde, diners can also choose from the grill menu. The imaginative wine list with an emphasis on the new world compliments the cuisine at number forty.
