The Lodge Robb Report Luxury Resorts magazine has selected The Lodge at Paratiho Farms in Nelson, New Zealand as one of the world’s 100 most exclusive destinations for the second year running.

As selected by the editors of Robb Report, the unprecedented collection of resorts—which along with New Zealand luxury lodge, Paratiho Farms, includes private island hideaways, tropical golf retreats, African safari lodges and grand mountain chalets—and spans more than 35 countries on six continents.

Paratiho Farms, was evaluated by the editors of Robb Report, based on location, service, architecture, amenities, and more. Robb Report is the international authority on the luxury lifestyle.

The Lodge at Paratiho Farms, undoubtedly one of the most luxurious properties available, is one of just three Relais & Chateaux properties in New Zealand. Nestled in 2000 acres of pristine and secluded working farmland, with many sheep, cattle and deer, the Lodge is filled with International and New Zealand art and sculpture, offers the very best Nelson foods and wines, and pampers and entertains guests in a stylish, informal way.

Truly a gourmet destination, Paratiho enhances what the surrounding Nelson region already has. Included are all meals - breakfast, lunch at the lodge or a picnic lunch designed around their preferences, cocktail hour, five course dinner, all beverages including wines, spirits, Champagne, full in suite mini bar and all on property recreational activities.

Separate from the main lodge are six large, extremely well-appointed suites, each positioned within the 20 acres of manicured grounds to give guests the utmost privacy. Every suite has a large walk in wardrobe, under-floor heating which extends out onto the private outdoor patio area for night-time star gazing, fireplace, claw foot bath, rainforest shower, laptop with internet connection, music system, separate bedroom to lounge area for privacy, fresh flowers and fruit, homemade cookies, and many other items which guests might not have with them but invariably need (or desire) – a steam iron, lavender bags, large mending kit with iron on patches, candles, hot water bottles, alarm clock with world timings.

Recreational activities at the Lodge include swimming, tennis, golf, petanque, croquet, a well-equipped gym complete with a saunarium (steam/sauna) and of course the 2000 acres of rolling hill country, farming sheep and cattle. Self guided walks or 4WD tours of the farm and property are also offered.

There is also an award winning Health and Beauty spa offering a broad range of treatments designed to soothe and relax the mind and body and the renowned Paratiho Cooking School with classes held by the adorable and very ‘Kiwi’, Angela Bone.

Beyond the farm gates are the fruits of the beautiful Nelson region. Not only is the produce of the land flavoursome and plentiful, but the area hosts three National Parks, many artists and some of New Zealand’s finest boutique wineries.

“We are delighted to have been included in this list again this year”, says Victoria Bruce-Miller, Marketing Manager for The Lodge at Paratiho Farms. “It proves to us that we are on the right track and doing things the very best way we can. Our aim is to provide a world-class accommodation experience and to provide ‘magical moments’ for our guests.

“A great majority of our guests tell us that Paratiho is quite definitely one of the finest places they have stayed in the world and as they say, ‘the proof is in the pudding’, the proof being that they keep coming back to stay with us year after year and telling their friends to come and stay with us too.”
