A loo with a view at Greywalls Hotel

The King’s Loo, which once hosted the bathing and dressing ritual of King Edward VII when he holidayed at Greywalls, has more recently been host to Barbara Streisand on her honeymoon and other insatiable romantics. Sue Prime, the manager of Greywalls, said:
“The Kings Loo is my absolute favourite room at Greywalls. Its position entirely on its own in the garden makes it incredibly peaceful and restful. You can understand why it was the King’s “morning” place in the early part of the 20th century! The bedroom has been sympathetically refurbished to retain its essence of style and comfort and the new shower room, designed by the owner, Ros Weaver, is really fantastic.”
The King’s Loo, which overlooks the colourful manicured gardens, is styled with delicate country fabrics and original antique furniture, and has an elegant new walk-in wet room.
Greywalls has also refurbished five other unique bedrooms secluded in the grounds. The Gatehouse Lodges, which are at the main gates and once housed scores of footmen at one time, have been made into five individual en-suite bedrooms, with picturesque views of the house and gardens.
Greywalls’ secluded setting overlooking Muirfield golf links and the Firth of Forth offers the ideal place to get away from it all. The restaurant is renowned for its excellent food, and Head Chef David Williams, who has worked in some of the best kitchens in Europe, serves a French-influenced menu using fresh and local Scottish produce. The hotel is renowned for its discreet, friendly service and with ten world championship golf courses within five miles, two tennis courts, a croquet lawn with Pimms on call and an excellent restaurant, there is no reason for guests to venture far.
