Somerville Hotel celebrates four star status

4th June 2007 Print
Somerville Hotel Following a multi-million pound refurbishment programme, The Somerville Hotel is celebrating the news that it’s Jersey’s newest four-star property.

The investment, which has transformed the Somerville into a deluxe boutique hotel, took 3 years and £2 million to complete and recognises the high standards of accommodation, food and service that are being consistently achieved at the hotel.

“We are dedicated to Jersey’s Tourism industry and are investing significant funds into all Dolan properties to ensure they meet the changing needs of Jersey’s tourism marketplace,” explains Managing Director Bill Dolan. “The four-star rating at the Somerville Hotel clearly places us alongside the best that Jersey has to offer. We always aim to exceed our guests’ expectations and I am confident and excited about the future, to build on our local and leisure business whilst tapping into the corporate market.”

The four star rating, awarded by AA after at least 3 visits to the property, accompanies the Somerville Hotel’s 2 AA rosettes, recognising the high quality of food and service in Tides Restaurant. The refurbishment programme affected all areas of the hotel, resulting in:

- 56 individually designed bedrooms
- 3 new conference suites catering for small groups and functions up to 55 delegates
- A fresh new look for the Tides Restaurant and Bar
- Investment in the latest IT equipment, with free WiFi being available to all guests

The Somerville Hotel is part of the Dolan Hotel Group. Established in 1985, the group includes the Somerville Hotel, Hotel Cristina and Golden Sands Hotel, all set in stunning locations with sea views, around the south coast of Jersey.
