Prestigious Tea Guild award for Swinton Park
Swinton Park, the luxury castle hotel in the Yorkshire Dales, has been invited to join the prestigious Tea Guild following an incognito inspection by the Guild’s members.High standards have to be met in order to meet the high levels of excellence demanded by the Guild, which was set up in 1985 in order to represent outlets dedicated to both brewing and serving tea to the high standards desired by The Tea Council. These include the quality of service, ambience and the tea served.
Swinton Park has over seven blends of loose tea on offer, including its very own Swinton Park Blend, along with herbal infusions, green teas and a selection of coffees. Guest at the hotel can also enjoy an afternoon tea, served in the sumptuous Drawing Room or in the garden beside the croquet lawn – and to celebrate the Tea Guild award the hotel is hosting two Croquet Afternoons on the 13th July and 17th August which will include a cream tea, croquet instruction and a competition.
“There are only eight other members of the Tea Guild in North Yorkshire” commented restaurant manager, Christophe Stocker, “We are delighted to have been selected. This is worthy recognition of the standards we set ourselves which my team work so hard to achieve”.
