Next week will see the official opening of the Express by Holiday Inn Antrim, with the newly crowned Miss Northern Ireland set to add glamour to the proceedings on her first official evening event.

The first hotel in Northern Ireland to be developed by Culzean Estates Limited and managed by Glasgow based BDL Hotel Group, the hotel is situated next to Junction One, Northern Ireland's largest Shopping Outlet. Just a 10 minute drive from Belfast International Airport, its strategic location makes it equally suited to those looking for a convenient stay before or after flying as guests seeking a base from which to explore the Province, with Belfast, Derry, the Giant's Causeway plus the North Coast's spectacular scenery and world renowned Golf Courses all less than an hour by car.

Featuring 90 guestrooms and four purpose-built meeting rooms, the property is certain to appeal to business and leisure travellers alike. The simple yet stylishly decorated rooms include a power shower, colour TV with satellite channels and pay-movies, tea and coffee making facilities, direct dial telephone, modem points and lamp-lit work desks.

The hotel offers twin, double and interconnecting rooms, accommodating up to two adults and two children, with five fully accessible rooms also available. The standard rate is £59 per room per night, which includes a full complimentary Ulster buffet breakfast.

Local businesses will be able to take advantage of the hotel's four purpose-built meeting rooms, which feature air-conditioning, Wireless Internet Access, natural daylight and black-out facilities. In total the meeting rooms can accommodate up to 160 people, with each area capable of accommodating 40 people ‘theatre style'.

Speaking about the new opening, Alexi Hakim, IHG's Chief Operating Officer for UK & Ireland, commented: "The opening of our new Antrim property in such a prime location will be a great addition to the IHG portfolio and, as our second Express by Holiday Inn property in Northern Ireland, will help establish the brand further within the region. We are delighted to be working with BDL and Culzean on what we are confident will prove a popular venture and look forward to delivering the warm welcome and quality experience that our guests count on us for."

The hotel's Massachusetts born General Manager, Jim Mingle, added: "With tourism on the up in Northern Ireland, there has never been a better time to be in the hotel sector. I'm therefore delighted to be part of the excitement which surrounds the opening of our new Express by Holiday Inn Antrim. Being located in the dynamic environment of the Junction One leisure and retail complex, the hotel is certain to complement the Outlet's offering and act as a driver to encourage visitors to stay longer in the Antrim area."

The BDL Hotel Group is growing rapidly, with their next new hotel, the Holiday Inn London - Chessington, scheduled to open at the end of June.
