Vietnam’s most luxurious new oceanfront resort, The Nam Hai, Hoi An, is celebrating its first six months of operation with a line-up of top accolades from readers of the most influential international travel and lifestyle publications.

The Nam Hai, which opened in December 2006, is the Asian flagship of GHM, one of the world’s leading creators and operators of award-winning, distinctive luxury hotels and resorts and a member of the prestigious The Leading Small Hotels of the World.

Conde Nast Traveller named The Nam Hai in both the US and UK editions of its 2007 annual Hot List of the world’s top new hotels, restaurants, spas and nightclubs.

The sublime 5-star resort on Vietnam’s famous China Beach was voted both one of the world’s hottest new hotels, and top new spas (US edition) in the influential travel and lifestyle monthly. The Nam Hai Spa was meanwhile ranked among Conde Nast Traveller’s world’s top 75 ‘Hot Spas’, described as “an absolute stunner”.

The Nam Hai was also named one of the “Best of the Best’ new hotels in the annual report by Australia’s leading Gourmet Traveller magazine.

To add to its growing list of high profile accolades, The Nam Hai has just been listed in Travel and Leisure Magazine’s ‘It List’ for 2007 in both the US and Australian editions.

Of the awards and accolades the Nam Hai has received, General Manager John Laing said “We at The Nam Hai are delighted with the response we have had from guests and media over the past six months and look forward to continuing this success long into the future”

The Nam Hai, Hoi An offers unrivalled 5-star accommodation amid the unique culture of Central Vietnam combining a state-of-the-art spa, gourmet cuisine and abundant recreational pursuits with an atmosphere of unsurpassed opulence on Vietnam’s coastline. The all-villa resort features 60 one-bedroom villas and 40 pool villas ranging from one to five bedrooms, each with its own luxurious infinity pool.

Occupying 35 hectares of landscaped tropical gardens overlooking the South China Sea on the famous China Beach, The Nam Hai is just 10 minutes from picturesque Hoi An, a UNESCO World Heritage ‘Silk Road’ trading port with a quaint ‘old town’ of sidewalk cafes and artisan boutiques.

Several other UNESCO World Heritage sites are also within reach of The Nam Hai for day outings, including My Son Valley, Vietnam’s equivalent to Angkor Wat, and Hue, the ancient capital with an Imperial City comparable to Beijing’s Forbidden City.

Also nearby is the busy seaport of Danang, where most guests arrive by air, and Marble Mountain, a scenic Buddhist sanctuary.

An 18-hole golf course will be opening nearby in the near future.
