The Chambers in Leeds – more than just a bed

The Chambers, a boutique serviced apartment residence in Leeds, which provides accommodation for business travellers staying in the city, is aiming to become the first to be accredited by new national VisitBritain quality standards.

The national industry tourism body has expanded its National Quality Assessment Scheme – which ensures hotel quality standards and awards star ratings – to incorporate the fast-expanding serviced apartment sector.

The Chambers is believed to be one of the first serviced apartments in the UK to apply and is now awaiting the results of its assessment which will give the company a quality star rating to match the UK’s leading hotels.

The company, which was the first to establish a serviced apartment brand in Leeds when it opened in November 2003, has also announced that its second residence in the city, on Park Place, is due to open very shortly, in the next three months.

Christine Boothroyd, owner of The Chambers, said: “We provide a service that many business travellers feel is better than a hotel so it is only fair that we can now be accredited by the national tourism body.

“We aim to provide a ‘home away from home’ for business travellers and tourists, so this type of quality assurance scheme can only benefit the industry in maintaining the very best levels of service.”

She added: “Work on our new Park Place residence, which will be twice as big as our existing site, is nearing completion – we are in final stages and will be ready to open our doors shortly.

“It will feature the most sophisticated boutique style apartments to open in Leeds and with every attention to detail, including TVs in bathrooms, this truly will be the savvy world-traveller’s paradise.”

The Chambers’ new luxury residence, a conversion of an old building on Park Place, will have 62 luxury apartments, a grand lobby reception, three state-of-the-art meeting rooms as well as a residents’ gym.
