Sports bar revival for Hilton London Metropole

Located on the ground floor of the Edgware Road hotel, the restaurant and bar is enjoying a radical makeover to create a more sophisticated eating and drinking environment.
Avner On, general manager at the hotel, said: “With over 1,000 bedrooms, we’re one of London’s largest hotels and we need a venue which caters for everyone’s tastes and provides a place for guests and visitors to unwind.
“There is a real buzz when you enter our hotel and Fiamma is a great part of that atmosphere – once it reopens we’ll have a superb range of eating and drinking experiences including the Lounge Bar, Caffe Cino and Nippon Tuk restaurant.”
The new design, created by interior designers Jestico & Whiles, will separate the bar and restaurant, giving it a modern and contemporary feel, with a wider choice of seating including an alcove, bar and sofa areas.
In the restaurant the number of covers is increasing to 322 and the focus of the food will remain on Hilton Breakfast in the morning, with two buffets serving 140 dishes, followed by an a la carte offering of international cuisine with a Mediterranean flavour.
The bar’s previous central unit is being moved to the side to help create extra space, with larger flat screens being introduced to give greater visibility.
New wine storage will improve wine quality, while customers will have the choice of a large range of drinks and bar snacks.
With the Rugby World Cup around the corner and London preparing to welcome a series of live American sports in October, the hotel is aiming to attract people to Fiamma to enjoy their favourite sports.
The Fiamma restaurant will be open from 6.30am to 10.30am and noon to 10.30pm, while the sports bar will be open from noon to 11pm. Both outlets will be open seven days a week.
Fiamma is located at Hilton London Metropole, 225 Edgware Road, London, W2 1JU.
