8th October 2007 Print
Get into hospitality The Millennium and Copthorne Hotels at Chelsea Football Club continued the Chelsea tradition of working with the Princes Trust, and provided a two week ‘Get into Hospitality’ training course during August & September.

The programme was designed to help young people who face barriers in their lives gain an insight into working within a hotel and enable them to obtain practical experience with the ultimate goal of employment in the future.

All participants obtained new skills within various areas of the hotel industry including concierge, housekeeping, food and beverage and reception and following successful completion of the two week programme all five participants were recognised for their hard work at a special graduation ceremony.

Success has already begun for one of the graduates who joined the concierge team following the programme. The hotel is also looking forward to welcoming two of the other participants back to the hotel as part time members of the team.

Carol Paddison, HR and Training Manager commented that “It was a pleasure to have worked with The Princes Trust and Chelsea on such an exciting program which has benefited both the five young people in addition to the hotel recruiting some excellent new staff.”
