Croatian Cuisine Club
Hidden Croatia offers travellers great getaways to the leading purveyors of accommodation and food on the sunny island of Hvar. Producers of food and wine based on the island of Hvar, have joined together to form a “Best of Hvar Club”. Two of Hidden Croatia’s much-loved hotels, the Adriana and the Riva are part of this club which aims to improve the offering of the island and present Hvar as a unique tourist destination. The hotels support a selection of new, very alluring and creative wine producers and farmers whose products are just beginning to find their way to market. Local products include tea and aromatic herbs, oil, wine and olives. Roots restaurant, part of Hotel Riva - the first Croatian member of the prestigious ‘Small Luxury Hotels of the World’ group – features many of these local products on its menu.
The system of co-operation with local producers maximises the economic and social responsibility, as well as the responsibility towards the natural environment as well as the people who live in it. Hidden Croatia is pleased to be introducing this project to those looking for a getaway that puts a little bit back into the local community.
Hotel Riva, nestled on the waterfront beneath the castle walls of the medieval Hvar town is an exquisite example of Dalmatian architecture. The elegant and chic interior appeals to those who enjoy revelling in luxury. The much acclaimed hotel restaurant, Roots, uses locally sourced ingredients to produce delicious Dalmatian – Mediterranean cuisine.
