The Potting Shed Pub

At the end of November, in time for the festive floodlit walks through nearby Westonbirt Arboretum, The Rectory Hotel team launch their new pub venture The Potting Shed. Serving quality seasonal British produce it will mark the rebirth of the traditional British Dining Pub. The Potting Shed will move away from the formulaic gastropub that we have all got bored of and focus on things that really matter – namely great beers on tap, a concise and interesting wine list and straight forward delicious food.

Carefully restored The Potting Shed is located 200 yards from The Rectory Hotel in Crudwell and will be open 7 days a week. Housed in a Grade II listed building the pub boasts open fire places and cosy eccentric design features including Kilim sofas and trowel door knobs. There’s a large airy dining-room in the barn as well as private dining for up to 12 and intimate seating for winter sessions. The pub will have year-round outdoor seating with an awning and toasty Cotswold woollen blankets for winter. Part of the 2 acre plot behind the pub is to be turned into an organic vegetable and herb garden to provide the hotel, shop and pub in time for spring.
