Treat yourself to a luxurious stay in the Scottish Borders Melrose is one of Scotland’s oldest inhabited villages situated in the historical Scottish Borders. Although once an area of violence, the area is now both historically and culturally significant and has become a popular spot for visitors looking for a peaceful and tranquil spot to indulge in sporting and country pursuits whilst surrounding themselves in years of Scottish history.

Set in Melrose's picturesque 18th century Market Square, in the shadows of the Eildon Hills and near the river Tweed sits Burts Hotel and The Townhouse Hotel.

Launched on the 1st November, The Townhouse Hotel, and its sister establishment Burts are offering guests a unique winter escape for just £65.00* or £64.00** in the award winning establishments.

In Melrose’s Market Square, the boutique Townhouse Hotel presents a contemporary interior and 11 beautifully decorated rooms. All rooms are ensuite with superior rooms even offering their own Jacuzzi baths. Built in 1722 as a home for a local dignitary, the A-listed building which houses Burts Hotel has been carefully extended and modified to offer each and every guest with modern comfort and the ultimate in service, befitting to a first class hotel.

Both hotels are renowned for excellent cuisine which comes highly recommended by guests, food guides and critics alike. The ingredients are of the finest quality with the menu complimenting and reflecting the changing seasons with local game, fresh fish and poultry often on the menu, combined with seasonal salads, vegetables and fruits. As members of the Scottish Beef Club, the beef supplied comes only from Scotland’s most renowned, quality assured farms with lamb coming from the areas green and rolling fields.

For sporting enthusiasts the Borders offers an array of leisure facilities. With no less than 19 golf courses, including the championship Roxburghe Golf Course designed by celebrated architect Dave Thomas, the Borders is also the birthplace of the rugby ‘sevens’. With tournaments now held across the world, the Melrose annual sevens tournament is still one of the largest and most prestigious days in the rugby calendar. Melrose, Kelso and Dryburgh abbeys are also located close by, alongside the historic Abbotsford House, making these hotels the perfect base offering luxurious accommodation in an area steeped in Scottish History.
