easyHotel opens in Zürich

As the credit squeeze begins to take effect and belts begin to tighten, easyHotel - the hero of the slashed expense account, opens its second hotel in Switzerland, in the heart of Zürich.

For sharp financiers keen to save cash on their business trips or for those wanting to spend more on their ski weekends this winter, rooms are available from just 39 euros a night, whilst those staying in the opening fortnight will be able to bag rooms from as little as 15 euros a night.

Located in the city centre, on Zwinglistrasse, the 33 bedroom hotel, which was formerly the police cadet quarters, is located within a stone’s throw of bars, restaurants, entertainment and the main railway station.

With their focus on offering simple comfort and great value, easyHotel already operates in Basel, Budapest and South Kensington, Victoria and Earl’s Court in London. The super budget hotel group is poised to open in Luton and at London Heathrow in the next few months. They remain on-track to reach their target to operate 60 hotels across major city centre and urban locations throughout Europe by 2010.

Advance booking at easyHotel.com secures prices which can prove cheaper than the taxi ride from the airport. Great value is maintained by the company charging customers a nominal fee for ‘frills’ including a change of towels, using the TV or having your room cleaned during their stay.
