Land & sea adventures at Australia's newest luxury resort
qualia offers guests pampering experiences and an impressive selection of activities - take the plunge with an introductory dive on the Great Barrier Reef or try the ultimate adrenalin rush by flying high on a trapeze above the water on board a purpose built catamaran; experience the exhilaration of a scenic seaplane flight over majestic Hill Inlet and Whitehaven Beach or catch a barracuda or tuna on a fishing trip. These are just some of the activities that guests can enjoy whilst staying at Australia’s newest exclusive resort, qualia (qualia.com.au) which opened its doors on Hamilton Island last month (October).
Bailey Robinson (baileyrobinson.com) features qualia and can organise a bespoke itinerary of any duration to Australia. Prices for a five-night stay on qualia start from £2,525 and include return international flights (London–Sydney), domestic flights (Sydney–Hamilton Island) and full board accommodation.
For guests who have the willpower and energy to pull themselves away from their 120 square meter pavilion, complete with sundeck and private plunge pool, qualia offers an impressive selection of tours and experiences which can be undertaken either as an exclusive private charter or within a small group.
Adventure seekers can try sea kayaking and bush walking, alternatively guests can charter a private yacht with their own chef for the day and explore deserted beaches and coves. Private helicopter tours are also available and range from 10-minute flights to full day excursions to the Great Barrier Reef. Fishing and scuba diving charters are also available with sea plane transfers.
Guests in relaxing mode can unwind and enjoy a wide range of treatments at Spa qualia where the focus is on the wellbeing of the mind and body. His and hers pampering includes anti-stress, anti-aging, detoxifying and cleansing treatments with the signature treatment ‘Bularri Yarrul’, a hot stone massage using 300 million year old stones and aromatherapy treatments using essential Australian oils.
The spa offers a meditation pavilion that can either be used by guests independently or as part of a treatment like the two and half hour ‘stretching, meditation and massage’ session. The spa also offers a special twice weekly ‘sunset meditation’ session that takes place at dusk, the ideal time to help draw guests into a deep, relaxed state.
