Celebrate Carnival in Cyprus

Carnival celebrations in Limassol date back hundreds of years with the origins from Greek mythology and the Dionysiac festivals. Today the city comes alive for 10 days with parties, parades and music. Streets where festivities take place are elaborately decorated particularly around the Medieval Lemesos castle which was the site of a royal wedding in the Middle Ages between Richard the Lionheart, and Berengaria of Navarre.
The arrival of the Carnival King heralds the start of Carnival celebrations, followed by a children’s parade on the first Sunday (2nd March), various music shows and finally the Grand Carnival Parade which takes place on the last Sunday (9th March) of the Carnival season.
The Londa is an Italian designed contemporary property on the shores of the Mediterranean in Limassol. It has become, since its redesign two and a half years ago, the place to be seen by the cognoscenti of Cyprus. During the Carnival, the Londa offers attractive packages to masquerade and be part of the festivities.

The interior design of the Londa is a contemporary classic. White marble has been used throughout the entrance and lobby, accented with black wood ‘pathways’ leading down to the sea. The highly unique style shows influences from the heritage of the island and from the Mediterranean including Cypriot lace, antique filigree silver and wood.
With just 68 rooms and suites spread across seven floors, this stylish boutique hotel offers five star facilities including Nespresso coffee machines, luxury Molton Brown cosmetics, high speed internet access and cordless phones.
The Londa boasts a very hip restaurant, the Caprice, with minimalist interiors. Here Mediterranean cuisine is served with a twist, while the hotel’s cocktail bar has a number of icon cocktails and snacks available throughout the day.
Guests enjoy the striking pool overlooking the Mediterranean and a health and fitness centre with a spa offering a comprehensive fitness and revitalisation programme.
