Boutique apartments support Leeds’ music talent

To embrace Leeds’ growing reputation as the North’s new ‘Media Hangout’, a CD showcasing a selection of the region’s best upcoming musicians will be available in each apartment at The Chambers’ luxury Park Place development in the city’s business district.
The ‘LCMselect’ CD has been produced by Leeds College of Music and it is hoped that the raft of music scouts, critics and media regularly staying at Park Place will take note and elevate some of the featured artists to super stardom.
Christine Boothroyd, owner of The Chambers, commented: “We have been proud to welcome a large number of influential figures from the music industry – from producers, scouts and A&R people - to both our developments and we want to demonstrate the huge pool of talent available in Leeds.
“The city has a great reputation for producing headline performers and we want to use our popularity with media moguls using our apartments as a platform to catapult local musicians into the national limelight.”
The CD includes a compilation of six tracks ranging from pop to jazz genres and was produced by undergraduates and graduates studying degree courses at Leeds College of Music.
Jennifer Chubb, head of LCMselect at Leeds College of Music, said: “By providing CDs in the apartments at Park Place we have a unique opportunity to target talent spotters and give our students and graduates the chance to succeed, which they all deserve.
“Leeds College of Music is the UK’s largest music college and as such we believe we have access to a crop of future stars. Alongside our existing contacts in the music industry, we hope the CD will help the individuals progress their careers and we’re grateful to The Chambers for enabling us to increase their exposure options.”
Park Place is The Chambers’ new luxury residence - a restored 19th Century building in the heart of Leeds’ business district comprising 62 boutique, individually-designed serviced apartments. It includes a grand lobby reception, three state-of-the-art meeting rooms and conference facilities, including the Maurice Paynel Suite, as well as a residents’ gym.
The company was the first to establish a serviced apartment brand in Leeds when it opened in November 2003.
