Iru Fushi Beach & Spa Resort appoints Ingo Möller

The soon-to-be-launched luxury Iru Fushi Beach & Spa Resort, part of Sun Hotels & Resorts, located in the Maldives, has announced the appointment of German national Ingo Möller as executive chef.

Fresh from a two-year stint at the prestigious five-star deluxe Taj Mahal Hotel, Dehli, India, 32-year-old Möller joins Iru Fushi Beach & Spa Resort, with a wealth of experience under his belt, having recently lead a team of chefs in preparing the state banquet for Angela Merkel, the German chancellor, when she visited Dehli.

In his new role, Möller will oversee the launch of Iru Fushi Beach & Spa Resort’s five restaurants, leading a brigade of 95. With a plethora of fresh fish and seafood available, the emphasis is on locally caught produce, prepared with an eclectic mix of fine dining from around the world, including; Asian, Indian, Moroccan, African and European influences.

Möller commenced his culinary career in Berlin, first at The Restaurant Paris-Moskau and later at the Michelin-star Bamberger Reiter Restaurant, before turning his attention to the Patisserie with a spell at the five-star diamond Hotel Kempinski, working in one of the most prestigious pastry kitchen's in the business.

Following Hotel Kempinski, Möller worked for two more Michelin-star restaurants in Berlin, until an opportunity presented itself to train with Eckart Witzigmann, Germany’s first ever three-star Michelin chef. He worked at his Cas Puer Restaurant in Mallorca and later on at his German restaurant, Witzigmann Palazzo in Munich.

Undertaking other various seasonal contracts, Möller also worked at the five-star deluxe Hotel Weisses Rössl in the ski resort of Kitzbühl, Austria before joining Taj Mahal Hotel.
