Best Western’s Mount Pleasant receives ‘Premier’ accolade Following a number of successful design, quality and service assessments at the four star Best Western Mount Pleasant Hotel in Doncaster, Best Western is pleased to announce its addition to the groups ‘Premier’ portfolio. With only four hotels achieving this status outside of London the hotel now proudly holds the title as Yorkshire’s only ‘Premier’ hotel.

Now known as the Best Western Premier Mount Pleasant Hotel, this property has been in the McIlroy family for 71 years and had three generations of ownership. With a total of 56 bedrooms, of which over half have lounge areas, the hotel boasts mud beds, sleigh beds, four and even five posters.

The Premier status is the highest accolade to be achieved from the Best Western group – with only a further five hotels making it past the stringent assessments. To achieve the status the hotel not only achieved its four star rating last year but also has been working hard to ensure that every first impression creates the ‘wow factor’ associated with a Premier hotel.

David Clarke, Chief Executive, Best Western Hotels said: “The Best Western Premier Mount Pleasant Hotel has achieved the highest of standards with excellent facilities, spectacular rooms and personal customer service and we are delighted to be welcoming the hotel into our Premier collection.”

Refurbishments, renovations and established local links had to be created in order to achieve Premier. This included a half a million pound reception and lounge area created with a Premier design look and feel in mind, including handmade chandeliers.

A selection of bedrooms have also been refurbished with upgraded flooring and cosmetic details. The hotel has also expanded their leisure facilities with beauty treatments and established links with a local gym, golf at a nearby club and horse riding.

Richard McIlroy, Managing Director and owner, Best Western Premier Mount Pleasant Hotel said of the hotels achievement, ”We have been aiming for Premier status at the hotel for a while now and through our dedication to investment in our facilities and services, attention to detail in our renovations and sheer hard work at the hotel we are pleased to be displaying the Premier plaque outside the hotel.”

This year the number of Premier properties in the Best Western portfolio is set to rise as the membership team strive to increase the number of hotels both joining and achieving this exceptional quality and standard.
