Sand, Sea, Spa - Chill out in the Maldives

However, with many people leading such busy lifestyles, it can sometimes take a little longer to unwind when on holiday. In recognition of this, Sun Hotels & Resorts have ensured that their three resorts in the Maldives each offer an extensive Sun Spa – a retreat in the truest sense – ensuring that total relaxation and rejuvenation are never far away.
Taking a holistic approach to health and wellness derived using the five elements of Chinese medicine (wood, fire, earth, metal and water) and traditional Ayurvedic practices to promote health and wellness; each Sun Spa provides an unrivalled variety of treatments. These include:
The Sun Spa Signature massage, available at all resorts, is priced from US110 (approx. £55) for a 60-minute full body massage followed by a 30-minute hydrotherapy session. The massage combines Swedish, Hawaiian Lomi-lomi, Balinese, Japanese, Shiatsu, Thai and Aromatherapy techniques. Performed in synchronization by two therapists this has to be the most relaxing treatment ever and a perfect start to a holiday!
For the ultimate indulgence, couples and honeymooners will appreciate the two-hour long Romance package, which can be found at each resort. Priced from US$220 per couple, (approx. £110) it includes a purifying steam to cleanse the body, followed by a couple’s massage where skilled therapists work harmoniously using exotic aromas of specially blended oils. The treatment culminates with a gentle, yet deeply cleansing refresher facial and is topped-off with a romantic flower bath, surrounded by candle lights and a glass of chilled wine – the perfect recipe for romance!
In September, prices at the newly opened Iru Fushi Beach & Spa Resort start from £1,099 per person and at Olhuveli Beach & Spa Resort from £999 per person.
