Manchester United’s securing their place in the UEFA Champion’s League final has led to a 350% rise in searches for hotel rooms in Moscow on the night of the final, according to the world’s leading hotels website, Hotels.com.

After today’s rush to snap up beds, there is barely a hotel room empty in the city on the night when the final will be played. The majority of the interest is from people living in the Manchester area.

Fans of Liverpool or Chelsea (who play each other tonight to decide who will face the Red Devils) may have to find more inventive venues for their night in Moscow if they want to follow their team to the final.

Alison Couper, director of communications for Hotels.com said: “It seems as though football fans have been flocking online and have bought up most of the beds available in Moscow. Liverpool’s or Chelsea’s supporters will have to be quick if they want follow their team to the finals.”

Moscow is the world’s most expensive city, according to recent Hotels.com research. The average price travellers paid for a hotel room in the city in 2007 was £194 per night. That made Moscow more expensive than New York (where travellers had to part with £143 for a room for the night), Dubai or Venice (both £125) or London (£115).

Hotels.com is the world’s most visited hotels bookings site and the global hotels specialist. Hotels.com offers a guaranteed price promise.
