Its bonus time at Solís Cambrian Hotel & Spa

22nd May 2008 Print
Its bonus time at Solís Cambrian Hotel & Spa To celebrate its first half year of operation, Solís Cambrian Hotel & Spa in Adelboden is offering a special rate of CHF182.50 (half of 365 days) from 20th June 2008, the date of its sixth month anniversary, for one month. This special rate is for a south-facing deluxe room with a stunning Alpine vista and represents a 25% discount on the usual rate.

Breakfast is charged at an additional CHF25 per person. To book this special rate, guests should email the hotel direct at info@solisadelboden.com, quoting “Half Year Bonus”.

Solís Cambrian Hotel & Spa opened in December 2007, following a complete refurbishment that has seen the property emerge as a relaxed but luxurious hotel, with a contemporary design focus, in stark contrast to the traditional village of Adelboden, which still retains the charm of a Swiss “chocolate box” village thanks to the predominance of typical wooden chalets.

While touches of the early 20th century building remain, such as the cosy under eaves bedrooms that have been converted into duplexes, Solís Cambrian Hotel & Spa has been re-designed for modern living, including a sun terrace, winter garden, restaurant Nova (which has already developed a reputation for serving excellent Italian food), Scott’s bar and a spacious 750 sq m spa using 100% natural Sodashi products from Australia.

With only 71 rooms (including 23 suites), the hotel is able to offer excellent levels of service with a personal touch, all part of the philosophy of Horst Schulze, ex-CEO of The Ritz-Carlton group, who has created the Solís brand.

Solís Cambrian Hotel & Spa occupies an enviable location with stunning panoramic views of the Swiss Alps, thanks to Adelboden’s location at the end of a narrow valley, which results in the mountains feeling so close you imagine you could reach out and touch them. These mountains provide an ideal summer playground for hiking (with or without llamas), mountain biking, parasailing and rock climbing.

Once the cobwebs have been blown away, the best place to relax and admire the mountain vistas is from the comfort of Solís Cambrian Hotel & Spa’s outdoor pool, while having your body massaged by water jets. Or you could head down the valley to Thun for the biggest open-air festival in Switzerland or to the historic city of Interlaken, gateway to Jungfrau, the highest railway station in Europe where snow is always guaranteed!

Adelboden is most easily reached from the UK via Zurich, from where there are easy train connections to the village.
