Dizzee Rascal drops in on Hamilton Island Hamilton Island hosted London’s award-winning garage MC, Dizzee Rascal, this month (May 2008). Dizzee, a 2003 Mercury Music Prize winner, stayed on the 18th floor of the Reef View Hotel which offers some of the Whitsunday’s best views of the Coral Sea.

Dizzee loved his hotel and his stay on Hamilton Island saying:

“It is wicked to see the cockatoos and eagles flying around - the best thing about staying here is the views and waking up and coming out here on the balcony every morning. The staff are really cool and friendly and the food is also good”.

Other celebrity guests include Hollywood actors Kate Hudson, Matthew McConaughey and Donald Sutherland who all stayed on Hamilton Island whilst filming “Fool’s Gold”; Nicole Kidman and Sam Neill who stayed whilst filming “Dead Calm”; the Osbourne family, consisting of Sharon, Ozzie, Jack and Kelly; actor Charlie Sheen, comedian Jack Dee and the Irish group The Corrs.

Hamilton Island (hamiltonisland.com.au), a beautiful year round resort, is found in the heart of the Whitsundays, a group of 74 essentially untouched tropical islands in the Coral Sea between the Queensland coast and the Great Barrier Reef.
