La Manga Club, one of the world’s leading luxury sports and leisure resorts, is set to play host to one of the fiercest golf challenges of the year as golfers from around Europe battle it out at the tenth annual World Corporate Golf Challenge.

The World Corporate Golf Challenge, which has become an institution over the past ten years, was established in response to a desire for companies to make golf more than just a social networking tool but to allow businesses to play competitively. The challenge has grown over the years to become an international event in which more than 40,000 people take part.

The hotly contested competition brings together corporate golf champions from more than 18 countries. National winners from all the participating countries compete against each other at the eagerly awaited finale at La Manga Club. The combination of business and golf gives the event a fierce spirit of competition providing the ideal atmosphere for valuable networking in a unique and relaxed environment.

Home to the event since 1998, La Manga Club has ensured this partnership will continue for the future signing an agreement to host the competition until 2010.

La Manga Club has always been synonymous with golf, featuring three 18 hole championship golf courses and outstanding practice facilities. Each of the championship courses has its own unique style and terrain providing something to challenge golfers of all ability levels and ages.

Julio Delgado, Director of La Manga Club, said: “The World Corporate Golf Challenge is a key event in the golfing calendar and extremely popular with golfers across Europe. This is the tenth year that we have hosted the competition and year on year we have seen the standard of play getting higher and higher. I am sure this year’s competition will be as competitive as ever as the finalists battle it out to be crowned champion.

“With three championship golf courses, a wonderful Tennis Centre, fantastic fitness, spa and leisure facilities as well as five-star accommodation, La Manga Club suits the tournament perfectly and we look forward to hosting this event until 2010 and beyond.”
