Leading luxury set for the heart of Leeds

Leeds’ most impressive luxury boutique hotel, The Ellington, is set to open in September 2008 in the city’s smart financial district. The new hotel is one of only six properties in the UK to be a member of The Leading Small Hotels of the World and will be designed to the highest standards in architecture, style and technology.

All 35 bedrooms, including one and two bedroom suites, each have plasma screen and satellite TV, iPod docking station, three telephones and complimentary WiFi. The entertainment centre in each room is capable of playing Xbox 360, Wii and PS3, all of which will be available to guests. Bathrooms have marble tiling with mosaic design, porcelain and luxury toiletries. 24-hour room service is also available.

Jazz-inspired black and white photography lines the walls of the sweeping backlit marble staircase leading down to the restaurant. The 56-seater restaurant is a major aspect of the hotel, where crushed velvet will give richness to the room – from the deep forest green of the banquettes to the rich purples and reds of the dining chairs. Reprints by the celebrated Polish artist Tamara De Lempicka hang on the restaurant walls.

The bar's low ambient lighting and sumptuous leather furniture delivers glamour and chic, and afternoon tea is served every day in the lounge from 3 to 5pm.

Private Dining facilities include The Boardroom for 14 people, while The Wellington Room can accommodate up to 30 people for dinner or theatre style. Meanwhile, The York Room is ideal for a more relaxed 'away-day' meeting for a maximum of 10. All rooms have natural daylight and the latest audio visual equipment, as well as WiFi and broadband connections.
