Lavish lofts provide perfect romantic retreats

The previously derelict top floor of the Great Victoria has been completely transformed into 13 individually styled, bedrooms and suites, boasting contemporary clean lined fixtures and Italian furniture mixed with rich opulent colours and fabrics featuring burnt oranges, reds and purples.
Sumptuous features in the rooms vary and include mood lighting and music which add to the opulent surroundings in the beautiful lounge and dining areas. There are rich purple carpets where you can sink into the luxurious 100 per cent Belgian wool, monsoon showers designed to make you feel like you’re under a waterfall, two showers side by side in cutting-edge wet rooms and 50 inch plasma TV screens.
Amongst the luxurious bedroom suites is a large penthouse, where guests can spread out on a 7x6 foot bed or relax in two modern baths which sit together on a raised walnut floor.
The penthouses make perfect honeymoon suites and the hotel can cater for wedding breakfasts of up to 150 guests. Couples can choose between two very different banqueting suites. There is an elegant suite containing the original Victorian oak paneling and a contemporary ballroom with bright red modern chairs. The dedicated wedding co-coordinators will help make your choices and create the lifestyle wedding of your dreams.
The “Fourth” is also a great choice if you have any other special occasions coming up as you can even book the whole floor so you and your party can take it over for the weekend.
“The Fourth” floor adds to the existing 57 ultra-modern rooms at the hotel and ensures the ultimate experience for its guests, providing exclusive comforts to residents of ‘The Fourth’ such as private check-in, turn down service, mini bar, bowls of fresh fruit, bathrobes and complimentary newspapers.
The Victorian building - built in 1867 – has a prime city centre location, offering couples the perfect base to explore the idyllic landscape of Bronte country and beyond. The hotel has also teamed up with the famous Alhambra Theatre to offer popular theatre breaks consisting of tickets, bed and breakfast and pre theatre dinner.
Bought by the Tomahawk Group in 2005, the Great Victoria has been refurbished to become the most stylish hotel in the city. Yorkshire-based interior design company ‘Browning and Baize’ is responsible for the superior layout and eclectic furnishings.
