Linthwaite House Hotel unveils sumptuous new rooms
Following an intensive six month building programme, work is now almost complete on the new £1.3 million extension at Linthwaite House Hotel, with the award winning boutique hotel, overlooking Lake Windermere, set to unveil the first of its five new rooms at the end of July, bringing the total to 32.The interiors have been created by the English designer, Roberta Fulford, who is one of the brightest of a new generation of commercial designers. Renowned for her smooth lines and ability to mix textures, she has maintained the warm and inviting feel of the century old, original country house hotel whilst offering a modern edge of indulgence with touches of contemporary luxury.
All five rooms feature state-of-the-art entertainment systems, including 32 inch flat screen TV, Ipod dock radio and DVD, sumptuous bed linen, fresh flowers and a mini fridge, which will be stocked to the requirements of each guest. Luxurious touches also extend to under floor heating in the bedrooms and bathrooms.
The largest of the new rooms is the 56 metre square Loft Suite, which will showcase a cleverly engineered retractable glass roof, which automatically closes if it rains, and adds to the feeling of airiness in the open plan design. Entering via the lounge, the room extends into a sizable adjoining bedroom and onto a partially open bathroom area, to reveal a large and luxurious freestanding Italian Designer bath and double walk in shower. Using a palette of duck egg blue and chocolate coloured Designer’s Guild fabrics, the contemporary feel in the lounge area is enhanced by a telescope for viewing the spectacular night skies that the glass roof will afford its guests.
The remaining four rooms each have their own unique attractions including a secluded private terrace for the ground floor room, with an external entrance, patio area with outdoor seating and table, making this ideal for disabled guests. On the first floor, of the three remaining rooms, the largest has a sumptuous bathroom with a double walk in shower and double angled bath, whilst another has a private balcony with a table and chairs looking east towards the hills and the third has a south facing outlook.
Commenting on the new rooms hotel owner, Mike Bevans said: “We see the addition of the new extension as the perfect complement to our existing rooms and the hotel’s dramatic natural setting. Each room has features that we hope will appeal to our broad range of guests but we hope that, above all, our guests will continue see Linthwaite as an ideal place to unwind, spoil themselves a little and enjoy the romance of the lakes”.
In addition to the five rooms, Linthwaite has also added a progressive ‘open to view’ kitchen, as part of this major development.
A one night stay in the ‘Loft Suite’ costs from £200 per person per night, including full English breakfast, service and VAT, based on two sharing. For further information or to book, go to Linthwaite.com.
