Aussie turns New York City into Midas gold

2nd July 2008 Print
Aussie turns New York City into Midas gold It started out as an information page for the new look MidasHotels.com website. All Midas wanted was some general information on this great city but read on and see what they got. Midas bookings to New York are soaring!

The Aussie asked to research and create the page started his work and found that most travel books and websites were out of date to one extent or another. The hours ticked by as did the days, and the page grew. He wanted it to be the best, the most current and the easiest to use.

He discovered fabulous websites like AskaNewYorker.com, where you can pose a question to someone in New York and you get an answer immediately. How hot is it now? Rather than checking a weather website.

Then he thought … how can people go straight to one of the websites mentioned without “leaving” the Midas Hotels website? Answer, by using new technology snap.com. His journey to have the best private New York website continued – but wait, he could add webcams of Times Square and music videos of street buskers from You Tube.

Now you’re talking an experience rather than just another website about New York City.

The “page” went live last week – New York Visitor Information Guide, (or see the small banner ad on the MidasHotels.com home page), but the impact has been huge.

Mike Andrews and Dave Nugent, the founders of Midas Hotel Network have disclosed that bookings to New York are soaring.

When asked about his work our Aussie said “well, it did take a little more time than I originally thought, but I love New York and have rediscovered it – I’m off over there next month!”
