Knight Frank completes sale of Royal Golf Hotel, Dornoch Global property consultancy, Knight Frank has sold the Royal Golf Hotel, Dornoch in a private sale for a figure close to the asking price of £5 million. Acting on behalf of Havana West Limited, Knight Frank partner David Reid closed the deal on one of the most famous golf hotels in Scotland just six weeks from when the property was placed on the market.

The Royal Golf Hotel is located beside the 1st tee on one of the world’s top rated golf courses. The hotel has planning permission where it can be refurbished to provide 33 en-suite rooms with additional planning permission for 11 luxurious apartments/cottages within the hotels grounds.

David Reid of Knight Frank commented: “We are delighted with the speed in which the sale of this prestigious property occurred. The hotel boasts a unique position overlooking the 1st tee of Royal Dornoch Golf Course and has an important local history. We received a lot of interest in the property and its quick sale demonstrates a continued confidence from developers and investors in the hotel and leisure sector. The success of this deal indicates that there is still significant demand from discerning buyers at the top end of the hotel market and we can confirm that the new owners will take over the property from next week.”

The property is situated beside Royal Dornoch Golf Course which is the world’s third oldest golf course. Adjoining the famous Tom Morris course is the 18 hole Struie Links designed by Donald Steel and within a short distance of Dornoch there are 11 other historic courses.
