If you want to burn some serious calories but don’t want to burn yourself out in the process then Nordic Walking is the answer, it is Europe’s fastest growing health activity! But why is it so popular?

Explains International Mountain Leader, Julia Tregaskis-Allen of Tracks and Trails: “To put it simply, Nordic Walking is walking with poles using long strides and swinging arms. It might sound like the Ministry of Funny Walks but if it’s good enough for Olympic athletes and other fitness fanatics then it’s good enough for us.”

The ‘Nordic’ comes from its Scandinavian roots, developed as summer training for cross-country skiers. Today the sport is enjoyed by people of all fitness levels. Studies show that Nordic Walking can burn up to 46 per cent more calories than normal walking while using 90 per cent of the body’s muscles.

The all-inclusive weekend costs £555 and also includes transfers from and to Geneva Airport or Train Station plus full-board accommodation in Chalet Pelerins. Travel from UK and personal insurance are not included.
