Grand Hyatt Dubai appoints new food & beverage experts

Italian culinary maestro Salvatore De Vincentis has been appointed Head Chef of Andiamo. Dubai marks the latest destination for the well-travelled 43-year-old, who has previously worked in Italy, Spain, Jamaica, Florida, The Bahamas and Jordan and celebrates 20 years in the industry this year.

Cooking has been in Salvatore’s blood since a small child, when he used to watch his mother whip up delicious family meals – and to this day, he still loves making good old-fashioned Italian meals at home when he’s not preparing top-notch meals for guests.

Salvatore also has a taste for languages – he speaks English, Spanish and Portuguese as well as his native Italian – and is the proud owner of a diploma from Sorrento’s Culinary Institute.

Award-winning Dominik Schachtsieck will manage all bars at the 674-room city conference resort.

Having previously worked at such prestigious hotels as the Grand Hyatt Berlin and the Hyatt Regency Cologne, Dominik learned his trade in highly acclaimed bars in his native Germany, winning accolades such as ‘World’s Best Bar, Best Bar in Germany’ – Glenfiddich Award for Barculture 2005 and ‘Best Hotel Bar in Germany’ – Feinschmecker Gourmet Magazine.

He arrives from Jumeirah Emirates Towers’ Vu’s Bar, where he was Bar Manager.

Dominik, who has more than 10 years’ experience in the bar business, is well known for creating completely new beverage concepts, selecting and combining extraordinary cigars and spirits.
