Hyatt reaches for new heights in Moscow

18th August 2008 Print
Hyatt reaches for new heights in Moscow Moscow’s only international boutique hotel, Grand Hyatt Residences & Spa, is scheduled to open its doors in December 2008 – just in time for the season’s festivities. While becoming the highest hotel in Russia, the ultra-luxurious accommodations will raise the bar across the local hospitality industry, by offering personalised service at a level above and beyond the expected.

Grand Hyatt Residences & Spa, owned by Mirax Group, will join Ararat Park Hyatt as Hyatt’s second property in Moscow.

Grand Hyatt Residences & Spa is part of the $12 billion Moscow-City Project situated four kilometers northwest of the Kremlin on the Krasnopresnenskaya Embankment. This project will create a spectacular new downtown that will also be home to the city government and major international businesses. Integrated within the Federation Complex, the centrepiece of the Moscow-City Project, Grand Hyatt Residences & Spa will form a vital part of this mixed-use complex which also houses luxury residences, serviced apartments, office space and a large retail centre including exciting restaurants and entertainment venues.

Designed by the German firm NPS Tchoban Voss, the Federation Complex rests on the world’s largest cast-in-place concrete foundation. It comprises a multilevel podium with two towers: the completed Tower West (62 floors, 243m), which will feature Grand Hyatt Residences & Spa; and the up-and-coming Tower East (94 floors, 360m), to become the tallest building in Europe. Glass bridges will link both towers and the 506-meter spire located in-between, providing access to high-speed elevators.

Scheduled for completion in 2010, Tower East will house Hyatt’s larger project, the 368-guestroom Grand Hyatt Moscow. Grand Hyatt Moscow will meet the latest contemporary requirements of modern business and leisure travellers. In keeping with the brand concept, it will offer a variety of food & beverage outlets, as well as extensive conferencing and banqueting facilities with state-of-the art technology and unparalleled design.

Following Hyatt’s latest trend in skyscraper properties, the reception and lobby of Grand Hyatt Moscow will be located on the 91st floor, rather than at the foot of the building.

Grand Hyatt Residences & Spa will offer the most personalised and detail-oriented service, where the guest experience will not be scripted, but rather tailored to the guest’s needs and wishes by a team of professionals. Rather than staffing independent teams of receptionists, concierges and guest service agents, the hotel will employ a team of personal assistants.

Each member of the team will act as host and will be cross-trained to facilitate various services to the guests throughout their stay, constantly assuming different roles, from pre-arrival communication to in-residence dining and housekeeping coordination, to residence departure.

Whatever the need, each Hyatt team member will personally facilitate that request, be it scheduling a Maybach pick-up or arranging for a pet-grooming appointment. Personal chefs will be on staff to orchestrate intimate dinners, lavish in-residence parties, or business cocktails. Health and spa confidants, meanwhile, will be available for developing personalised wellness programs, giving nutritional counsel, or simply booking a treatment.

Grand Hyatt Residences & Spa will feature 18 spacious suites (Levels 49-50), including four 2-bedroom accommodations. Ranging in size from 90 to 245 square meters (969 to 2637 square feet), the suites will boast floor-to ceiling glass windows to best experience the breathtaking city views. Guests will have a choice of two distinct room decors: contemporary modern or classic.

The accommodations will incorporate the latest in technology and will be equipped with individual kitchens, a wine cave, humidor, espresso machine, exquisite china and cutlery for in-residence dining.

For the discerning traveller, looking to immerse into complete relaxation, seven residential spa guestrooms (37 square metres/398 square feet) will be available in the spacious spa on Level 60. With their minimalist contemporary feel, these accommodations will be self-sufficient, allowing guests to enjoy a wide range of massages and treatments in the privacy of their residence. The rooms will be completely functional for wellness (wet and dry in-room treatments, luxurious oversized soaking bathtubs, and steam showers) as well as business (wireless connectivity, for example).

Two additional treatment rooms will be available in the 1400 square metre (15,000 square feet) spa and fitness area on Levels 60 and 61 which will also encompass a 20-metre swimming pool, as well as two whirlpools, a traditional Russian bath, an exercise studio, yoga room, and juice bar.

With its open kitchen, sophisticated space design, and highly skilled service, the restaurant and lounge on the 62nd floor of Grand Hyatt Residences & Spa are set to become a Moscow must, not only for out-of-town guests, but for Muscovites alike.

The atrium-style restaurant with seating for 160 people will specialise in contemporary style cuisine and will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with a special focus on evening service, administered by a top caliber chef. The intimate Lounge located on the same floor will offer a lavish selection of drinks and a light fare dishes and will feature a daytime coffee bar that transitions into an evening champagne bar with live entertainment.
