Las Vegas mixes it up with Paul Oakenfold residency Las Vegas based N9NE Group and Palms Casino Resort have announced that Paul Oakenfold, one of the world’s leading DJs, will hold court at Rain Nightclub beginning this Autumn in his first Resident DJ position in the United States. ‘Paul Oakenfold Presents: Perfecto Las Vegas’ was conceptualised specifically for Rain Nightclub, the legendary 25,000 square-foot nightclub and concert venue at the Palms Casino Resort known for its special effects and international headliner acts.

Oakenfold’s residency further strengthens Las Vegas’ reputation as the entertainment capital of the world. The city has a legendary history of wowing audiences with everything from innovative new productions to traditional crooners. A new era of entertainment has evolved in recent years as Las Vegas strives to stay one step ahead of other entertainment destinations by electrifying audiences with big-name headliners and awe-inspiring spectaculars. Oakenfold will be in good company, joining other Las Vegas based entertainment extravaganzas including Bette Midler’s The Showgirl Must Go On and the Cher Las Vegas show at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace; Phantom – The Las Vegas Spectacular at The Venetian; The Beatles LOVE by Cirque du Soleil at The Mirage.

Named after his label, Perfecto Records, the show will take place every Saturday starting from 30th August 2008 and continuing throughout Summer 2009. Oakenfold is scheduled to perform at 26 of the show dates with other internationally-acclaimed DJs making cameos in his absence, including Carl Cox, Paul van Dyk and Felix da Housecat. Perfecto Las Vegas, a collaboration between Paul Oakenfold and award-winning VJ and director, Vello Virkhaus, will feature a myriad of cutting-edge design and visual art elements including full audio visual system integration, multi-screen content and eye popping computer graphics. ‘This will be the most extravagant nightlife experience Las Vegas has ever seen,’ says N9NE Group Vice President Michael Fuller. ‘It will include everything from video and audio entertainment to performance artists and props.’

Oakenfold’s residency starts immediately following the completion of his global ‘Greatest Hits & Remixes Tour,’ a 20-selection strong collection of his seminal dance recordings and remixes that celebrates the career of an artist whose combined releases have totaled almost two million in sales in the U.S. alone. Oakenfold is a two-time GRAMMY nominee, and his 2004 album ‘Another World’ remains the best selling dance album of all time. Oakenfold has previously held DJ residencies at Cream Nightclub and Home @ Leicester Square in the U.K.

The N9NE Group’s dedication to diversifying the types of music played at its venues was a key factor in Oakenfold’s decision to sign on as Resident DJ of Rain Nightclub. “There is nowhere in America other than Las Vegas that I would want to be a resident DJ,” Oakenfold says. “It is the world’s oyster, and the Perfecto nights at Rain Nightclub are going to take clubbing to a whole new level.”

Rain Nightclub is located on the casino level of the Palms Casino Resort at 4321 W. Flamingo Road and features the N9NE Group’s signature VIP amenities including state-of-the-art sound, lighting, pyrotechnics, and ultra-premium bottle service. The multi-level space includes 21 private areas, VIP rooms, dance floors, and multiple bars.
