Calendar Girls comes to Bradford

17th September 2008 Print
The Great Victoria hotel in Bradford does great theatre breaks which include One Nigh’ts Bed and Breakfast, Pre Theatre 2 course dinner and 2 tickets for a show at the famous Alhambra Theatre nearby. The Great Victoria has close ties with the Alhambra as its founder Francis Laidlaw lived in a suite at the Great Victoria for 30 years and produced more pantomimes than any other impresario before or since.

On October 6th the stage version of Calendar Girls comes to Bradford and as the story has its beginnings in Yorkshire , the hotel are putting on extra special theatre breaks that week. Guests who are going to the theatre and want to split their dinner will even be able to come back and have their desserts after the show.

Great Victoria is also putting on a grand afternoon tea in the stunning oak panelled restaurant on Tuesday October 7th to raise money for the Calendar Girls charity “Leukaemia Research”.

With a violinist and a fashion show it promises to be a wonderful afternoon and the team at the Great Victoria are hoping all the local W1s will support them and they may even attract an original Calendar Girl or two!
