Hyatt Regency Dubai welcomes Italian guest chef

Hyatt Regency Dubai welcomes Italian guest chef This autumn, Hyatt Regency Dubai will host the chef of the renowned Michelin two-star Italian Ristorante Hotel Villa Crespi. Between 3 and 7 November, Chef Antonio Cannavacciuolo will bring his innovative and award-winning cuisine of Villa Crespi to Focaccia restaurant by creating a special lunch and dinner menu accompanied with finest Italian wines.

Born in 1975 in Vico Equense, in the province of Naples, Italy, Chef Cannavacciuolo discovered his passion for cooking during his childhood. “As a child, the kitchen for me was the place where we ate, an important place where the family met. My father was a chef and so in a way I had cooking in my genes.”

After graduating from the Hotel and Catering School of Vico Equense in 1989, Antonio worked in some of the finest hotels in Italy, before joining Villa Crespi in 1999. Since 2003, Chef Cannavacciuolo has won several awards for his excellent cuisine and outstanding restaurant. In 2003 and again in 2006, the prestigious French Michelin Red Guide awarded Ristorante Hotel Villa Crespi with two Michelin stars, emphasising Chef Cannavacciuolo’s talent and expertise.

Ristorante Hotel Villa Crespi is located in picturesque Orta San Giulio in the heart of Piemont near the charming shores of the Lake Orta and less than an hour from Malpensa International Airport. It is as close to several of Italy's finest golf courses as to a number of exclusive shopping outlets.
Built by the successful businessman Cristoforo Benigno Crespi in 1879, the interior of the villa depicts his adoration for Baghdad and that city’s fairy-tale like oriental designs.

After being home to the Marquis Fracassi of Torre Rossano and providing accommodation to artists and royalty, the villa’s present owner, Raffaele Esposito, transformed it into an extraordinary four-star hotel that is a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World and features an award-winning restaurant.

With the setting of a Mediterranean villa built around the turn of the century, the concept of Focaccia is not only a perfect match with Villa Crespi, but also offers the perfect venue to support Chef Cannavacciuolo’s idea for the promotion week in November.

“To leave a deep impression on the new Italian cuisine. I hope to bring you a taste of the flavours, aromas and emotions of Villa Crespi, a complete gourmet experience.” Guests visiting Hyatt Regency Dubai between 3 and 7 November will have the chance to be part of an extraordinary and unique dining experience.
