Spa at Sandy Lane introduces Anne Sémonin treatments

From October 2008, guests at the Spa at Sandy Lane will be able to enjoy a range of new luxury treatments by French ‘haute couture’ spa and beauty brand, Anne Sémonin. The original pioneer of the ‘à la carte’ spa concept, Anne Sémonin has designed a bespoke treatment menu using only the finest natural ingredients, has fully trained all staff, and crafted signature finishing touches to the Spa rituals at Sandy Lane.

Like Sandy Lane, the philosophy at Anne Sémonin centres on delivering a tailor made guest experience and this is evident at every level. Each treatment begins with a full consultation, where an Anne Sémonin trained therapist consults the guest on his or her specific skin needs. The treatments are then adapted and ‘made to measure’ in the famous Anne Sémonin tradition. The first brand to combine trace elements and essential oils within a complete spa range, all Anne Sémonin treatments present a highly individualised and holistic approach to beauty.

Sandy Lane Liquid Gold Facial – 2 hours
Treat your skin to the ultimate facial treatment, exclusive to Sandy Lane, using pure extracts from the apricot kernel known as ‘liquid gold’ to restore, re-energise and revitalise the skin… Lie back onto warmed bubbling seaweed as your therapist blends and prescribes products to suit your specific needs and concerns. Experience and indulge in this dynamic and powerful facial treatment to incorporate a bespoke eye and décolleté treatment.

Sandy Lane Crushed Ice and Aromatic Oil Ritual – 1hr 30mins
Designed exclusively for Sandy Lane, this fabulous body ritual awakens the senses and invigorates the whole body. An uplifting oil and sea salt scrub is used to prepare the skin. Drizzled warmed aromatic oils envelop and soothe the body whilst crushed aromatic ice is massaged head to toe to uplift, firm and tone. The body is then cocooned and the main tension zones on the scalp, eyes and reflex points of the feet are massaged. An uber-luxe body therapy!

Sandy Lane and its Spa underwent an exciting refurbishment during September 2008, and reopened on 3rd October 2008. All 14 treatment suites were redecorated with bamboo floors, which complement the new, top of the range Oakworks spa beds. Sandy Lane now offers guests a Rhassoul Bath (believed to be the only one in the Caribbean), where guests enjoy an herbal steam bath whilst their body is covered in natural healing mud: a one-of-a-kind experience, leaving guests feeling totally relaxed and invigorated.

Additional new features include a calming koi pond centred between the relaxation area and the panoramic sauna. Guests can now also enjoy Sandy Lane’s new signature spa juice before and after their treatment; a delicious and refreshing combination of coconut water, Bajan cherry juice and fresh mint specially created by the hotel’s culinary team.
