Iberostar opens new five-star hotel in Brazil

Iberostar Hotels & Resorts is now welcoming guests to the newly opened Iberostar Praia do Forte hotel in Brazil, a premium hotel on Praia do Forte. The opening of the new hotel completes the second stage of the three-part development of the Praia do Forte complex. The Iberostar Bahia hotel opened in May 2006, with the third and final Iberostar Brazilian resort scheduled to complete the complex in summer 2009.

The 5-star, all-inclusive resort is located in Praia do Forte, close to Salvador de Bahía and boasts an exceptional beach-side location. Praia do Forte is a picturesque fishing village, set within a tropical landscape characterised by 12 kilometers of stunning beaches and rock pools. The area is also home to many species of marine life including protected sea turtles.

The hotel combines premium accommodation, including two Presidential Suites, 432 Superior suites and over 100 Upper Junior suites. All rooms are elegantly decorated and have sea views. Each room features queen or king-size beds and comes equipped with a large LCD TV with satellite channels and internet access.

The resort is designed to reflect its local surroundings, with natural lakes, lush gardens, and six spectacular swimming pools, including two infinity pools. Guests can enjoy a refreshing drink at the aqua bar in one of the inter-connected swimming pools. Lounging in privacy is easy as guests can find their own private spot on the sun terraces which are separated by shrubs.

Praia do Forte offers families an ideal getaway, as both parents and children are well catered for. Kids will be entertained at the resort’s miniclub by STARfriends, a qualified entertainment team, as well as at the large amphitheatre which screens a range of night-time films. Guests can also take part in many sporting and water activities. Facilities include tennis courts, and a fitness centre that features an aerobics and gymnastics area. Golf lovers can practice their swing on the resort’s own golf course designed by the renowned P.B. Dye.

The resort offers a culinary experience to suit all tastes with five restaurants to choose from, including three themed restaurants, one buffet and one beach restaurant. The resort also features a lobby bar as well as a music bar.

For guests who are in need of some pampering, Praia do Forte’s spa offerings will not disappoint. In April 2009, the hotel will open its spacious spa complex featuring a beauty salon, a sauna and steam room, a Turkish bath and an indoor swimming pool.
