Loki builds new oceanfront hostel in Mancora, Peru

“The seven owners of Loki are all travelers ourselves, so we try to provide all the comfort and services that we would want in a top hostel. Since Loki del Mar was a new construction, we didn't leave this in the hands of the builders. We created the hostel to suit the modern-day backpacker, adding simple touches such as free Internet and wireless, personal lockers in the room, laundry service, power charging stations and other amenities,” said Dave Cassidy, Loki Hostels owner.
The owners were on site from day one of the build, giving input into the designs, and adapting them “on the fly” throughout the project.
Right next to the surf break, and near all the bars and restaurants, Loki del Mar (lokihostel.com/mancora) is in the right spot to enjoy the best of Màncora. The hostel was built with all the comforts of a beach complex, giving backpackers a place to take a break without blowing their budget. Màncora is ideally located on the north shores of Peru, just two hours from the Ecuador border.
With all rooms en-suite, and no dorm bigger than six beds, Loki del Mar is a spacious and comfortable place to spend a few days or a couple of weeks. Travelers can spend their days on the beach, lounging by the pool or relaxing in the shaded garden area. The recreation area also has table tennis and pool tables along with a television room. The kitchen provides a variety of local dishes throughout the day and features a group meal each evening. The full bar has everything from fresh juices to cocktails.
“The ocean adds a new perspective to modern-day backpacking,” said Cassidy. “And it’s sure to enhance our legendary Loki nightlife reputation!”
