With many families looking to make the most of their getaway this winter, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts is ready to help golfers plan a memorable vacation experience the entire family will appreciate, leaving them plenty of time hit the links. This includes experientially inspired family golf getaways that are sure to please golf enthusiasts like dad, but also get the thumbs up from the rest of the clan as well.

Golfers will take delight in Fairmont’s distinctive collection of renowned and award-winning courses, while their families take pleasure in the exciting and authentic experiences offered throughout the resort.

For duffers who prefer to sit on the sidelines, there is also plenty of golfing action to go around. From 23rd February – 1st March 2009, the third annual Mayakoba Golf Classic, one of the ‘hottest’ stops on the PGA tour, will take place at the Fairmont Mayakoba when 132 pro golfers take to the resort’s El Camaleón Golf Course. Additionally, the Fairmont Scottsdale will proudly host pro golfers and their fans for the “Greatest Show on Grass”, the annual FBR Open, taking place from 26th January – 1st February 2009 and held adjacent to the resort at the Tournament Players Club of Scottsdale’s Stadium Course.

Bermuda is an excellent golf destination during the winter months, as well as an ideal setting for small children and families, who can take a moment to feed the fish in the Hamilton Princess’ Koi Pond, or explore the beautifully preserved Crystal and Fantasy Caves located nearby.

Fairmont hotels in Bermuda are offering two unparalleled golf packages this season. The Ultimate Tee Time Package is available at both The Fairmont Southampton and The Fairmont Hamilton Princess and includes nightly accommodation and unlimited daily golf at the Fairmont Southampton Golf Course or one round of golf at Riddell’s Bay Golf and Country Club. Available through 25th March 2009, rates at the Fairmont Southampton and the Fairmont Hamilton Princess start from USD 534 and USD 549 per night respectively. Also on offer is the 3 Night Riddell’s Bay Golf Package at The Fairmont Southampton, which includes three night’s accommodation, two rounds of golf at Riddell’s Bay Golf & Country Club, and complimentary shuttle transportation to and from the hotel and course.

From 1st January 2009 to 31st March 2009, rates start from USD 499 per person based on double occupancy for three nights.

The Fairmont Turnberry Isle Resort & Club’s Fore the Love of Golf Package gives golfers the perfect reason to flee to the Miami tropics this winter and play two championship Raymond Floyd-redesigned 18-hole golf courses. The package includes nightly accommodation, daily breakfast buffet, unlimited golf including green fees, cart, and a caddie for the first morning round, a warm-up bucket of balls, unlimited admission to the resort’s Willow Stream Spa and fitness centre, shuttle service to and from the Ocean Club and Aventura Mall, and room tax and resort fees. Guests may substitute unlimited golf for one 60-minute spa treatment per day.

Families can also take advantage of the resort’s Laguna Pool, featuring a 180-foot long, 35-foot high waterslide that winds into a supervised splash pool, an 800-linear-foot lazy river, a separate hot tub as well as a toddler wading pool. Rates start from USD 639 per night through 18th December 2008; from USD 1,009 per night from 19th December 2008 to 4th January 2009; and from USD 769 per night from 5th January to 30th April 2009.

The Fairmont Scottsdale, the ultimate year-round golf destination, now has The Ultimate Three-Day Golf Getaway Package. Package includes three night’s accommodation, daily American breakfast, three rounds of golf at either the TPC Scottsdale Stadium Course, TPC Scottsdale Champions Course, or Grayhawk, complimentary use of the practice facilities, transportation to and from the golf course, and complimentary golf concierge services.

Youngsters will also be kept busy with the resort’s kid’s and teen’s programs. Children can enjoy organised events like scavenger hunts and lagoon fishing, while “The Hang Out” is a refuge for teenagers, complete with Xbox games and an Internet café. Available year-round, rates start from USD 2,529 for three nights.

Avid golfers can also get into the swing of things this winter with the Fairmont Scottsdale’s PGA Tour Swing Package. This offer includes two night’s accommodation and a round of golf at both the TPC Scottsdale Stadium Course and Grayhawk’s award-winning Raptor course. Available from 1st November 2008 to 15th January 2009, rates start from USD 499 per person based on double occupancy for two nights.

For those seeking a little relaxation and recreation, The Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa is the epitome of a sophisticated golf oasis in the heart of Sonoma Wine Country. Families can enjoy trips to the nearby Sonoma Plaza, located in the historic town of Sonoma, filled with significant sites, parks and numerous shops, or even enjoy a picnic basket, arranged by in-room dining, at the Quarryhill Botanical Gardens.

When the time comes to play some golf or relax with a massage, the resort is proud to present world-class spa facilities, as well as exclusive access to the Sonoma Golf Club, a 177-acre private 18-hole championship course. The His and Hers Spa Tees Package includes nightly accommodation, one round of golf at the Sonoma Golf Club for him per night, one fifty-minute spa treatment for her (up to a value of USD 155) per night, two drinks in the charming Lobby Bar daily, and valet parking.
