Triple award success for Bournemouth's Urban Beach

Held at the Opera House in Boscombe, the awards recognise business’ and individuals’ commitment to developing Bournemouth as a tourist destination. The Urban Beach was awarded Best Bar of the Year, Best Small Hotel and Mark was highly commended in the Tourism Entrepreneur of the Year category.
Mark Cribb, said: “Being recognised as both best bar and best small hotel is an amazing achievement and is testament to the hard work and dedication of my team. Bournemouth has transformed itself in recent years and continues to grow as a tourist destination. I’m proud to be a part of this change and am looking forward to taking it a step further with the launch of Urban Reef next Spring. ”
The judges commented: "We were all very impressed by the Urban Beach, Mark and his team have great attention to detail and a clear understanding of what their guests and regulars need."
The Urban Beach is owned and expertly-managed by partners Mark and Fee, a young couple with big ideas. Mixing the chic design of Bournemouth urban living and the laid back attitude of the beach, the Urban Beach opened in 2006 and quickly became the place to hang out – putting Boscombe on the map and making it a tourist destination its own right.
The Tourism Awards come hot on the heels of the Dorset Business Awards, where Mark won Entrepreneur of the Year, and the announcement that the business has been awarded the contract to develop ‘The Urban Reef’ as part of the Overstrand development on Boscombe seafront.
The Urban Beach is open seven days a week, from 8.30 till 11pm, for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are 12 decadent rooms, each individually designed and ranging in price from £70 to £170. To explore the hotel further, log on to Urbanbeachhotel.co.uk.
