Holbeck Ghyll celebrates a decade of Michelin Star dining Following last week’s publication of the 2009 Michelin Guide to Great Britain, Holbeck Ghyll Country House Hotel in the Lake District is delighted to announce that its coveted restaurant has been awarded Michelin Star status for the 10th consecutive year.

Specialising in traditional British cuisine with a distinct French influence, Holbeck Ghyll is incredibly proud to offer Windermere’s only Michelin Star restaurant. Proprietor, David Nicholson, says, “It is thanks to the expert supervision and creative flair of Chef David McLaughlin that we have secured this prestigious accolade.”

McLaughlin has directed the kitchen at Holbeck Ghyll for many years and ensures the menu changes daily in order to make the most of the fresh, seasonal produce and the exquisite range of wines on offer.

Available to non-residents, the multi award-winning restaurant guarantees an unforgettable gastronomic experience for all guests with fine cuisine, extensive wine list, superior service and inspiring views of the Lake District, all from a magnificent oak-panelled dining room.

For a limited time only, Holbeck Ghyll is offering their midweek dinner, bed and breakfast rate of £125 per person, per night for selected weekends throughout January and February. This fantastic offer includes a three-course meal in the Michelin Star restaurant plus a free room upgrade on a first-come, first-served basis.

Situated on the hillside of Lake Windermere, guests can work up an appetite by enjoying healthy walks in the crisp air and return to tea and scones around crackling log fires, enjoy the warmth of the hotel's Health Spa and relax in the evening over an intimate candlelit dinner.
