Wine and dine in style at in Cape Town

Wine and dine in style at in Cape Town Minutes from Cape Town, miles from the world - the Steenberg Hotel not only offers an award winning winery on the Cape's oldest farm, luxury accommodation, a spa and 18-hole golf course in the heart of Cape Town - but its renowned Catharina's Restaurant has now been completely refurbished so guests can enjoy Chef Garth Alamazan's gourmet cuisine in style - with views to die for! Undoubtedly one of Cape Town's hottest restaurants for 2009.

Catharina's Restaurant has been transformed into an absolutely stunning new look 90 seat restaurant. It has a contemporary look and feel offering sweeping views of False Bay, the surrounding Steenberg Mountains and the verdant Steenberg vineyards. A beautiful courtyard and a conservatory filled with lush plants and unusual water features add to the ambience.

The interior echoes its African roots with locally custom-made timber furniture and tactile fabrics in rich earthy tones. Celebrated executive chef, Garth Almazan (who recently won the American Express Fine Dining Award for 2008 for the 11th time!) has created an exciting new menu focusing on contemporary South African cuisine that’s bound to win raves.

The popular Sunday Jazz Luncheon has also re-opened. Catharina’s is renowned for the mouth-watering selection of cuisine on offer in this generous buffet luncheon. Different artists entertain with laid back jazz underneath the historical oaks. Should the weather be chilly the atmosphere is just as good inside beside the roaring fire. It is indeed a fabulous way to end a weekend.
