Perthshire hotel is number one for romance

Alongside the award for Scottish Romantic Hotel of the Year, the Lake of Menteith also scooped the awards for Rising Star Restaurant with Rooms of the Year 2009 and Informal Dining Excellence Award 2009. Head Chef Michael Hobbins and the team were also delighted to be runners up for the Hotel Chef of the Year Award 2009 and Small Country Hotel of the Year Award 2009.
The Lake’s owner, Ian Fleming commented; “We are thrilled to have received these awards, which recognise the hotel’s welcoming atmosphere, stylish interiors and fabulous setting as well as the outstanding dining experience which we offer in our waterfront restaurant. Since taking over the hotel in 2005, we continue to go from strength to strength and we’re delighted to see the Lake gaining the recognition which it deserves.”
The Lake of Menteith Hotel enjoys a unique waterfront setting on the edge of Scotland’s only lake at the Port of Menteith. Only an hour’s drive from Glasgow or Edinburgh, the hotel has been decorated in the welcoming style of a classic New England waterfront hotel, with muted tones and the extensive use of local timber and stone perfectly complimenting the location.
The Hotel Review Scotland Awards 2009 attracted over 21,000 category votes and is supported by the highly respected websites, hotelreviewscotland.com and destinationscotland.com.
