A hotel offer you can’t refuse
‘Love our hotels, or we'll give you £50’ - that's the promise from online hotel company HotelConnect, which features over 2,500 handpicked properties worldwide aimed at independent travellers."If, on arrival your hotel is not how we have described it and we can't resolve the situation, we'll give you a £50 voucher to use next time you book - it's as simple as that," says HotelConnect's managing director Chris Fraser.
"We have seen our properties and can honestly describe them to our customers - travellers may be surprised to learn how few hotel booking agencies can claim to do the same."
This commitment is part of HotelConnect's 'Goodnight Promise' - a customer charter with six key points:
1. Customers' money is protected by its bonding with ABTA
2. Featured hotels are inspected and honestly described
3. A friendly UK call centre (in north London to be precise)
4. Best value for money - guaranteed
5. Stress-free booking (in three steps, online or by phone)
6. 24-hour contact when you're away
The company's own team of contractors inspects hotels on a regular basis, awards its own "unbiased" star ratings and describes the hotels in "balanced and honest reviews".
For example, the two-star Bastille Charonne hotel in Paris is described as being in an area which "does still have a bit of an up and coming feel to it" and having rooms which "can be a bit on the small side, but if you're looking for a basic, friendly and cheap option then this hotel should fit the bill."
On the other hand the Apex Waterloo Place hotel in Edinburgh is "officially four- star however due to the high quality finish and excellent facilities on offer we feel this hotel deserves to be graded as a four-star superior".
Guests who, on arrival, disagree with the company, are asked to contact HotelConnect immediately so that any problem can be addressed or an alternative found.
If the issue cannot be resolved, HotelConnect will issue the voucher within 7 days.
