Le Méridien Al Aqah scoops four travel awards Le Méridien Al Aqah Beach Resort in Fujairah took home four awards last Thursday night at the MENA Travel Awards 2009, with its environmental achievements in the spotlight.

The resort has participated in the MENA awards since 2004, but 2009 marked a record for it with the most number of awards won. The resort won the following prestigious awards: Best Price Value Hotel – Platinum; Best 5 Star Leisure Hotel – Gold, Best Environmental Hotel – Gold, and Best Conference and convention Hotel - Silver

“It is a significant win for the resort, particularly after showcasing our environmental achievements and MICE facilities at ATM 2009 last week. We are looking forward to a bustling summer and continuing to exceed the expectations of our guests,” said Patrick Antaki, General Manager, Le Méridien Al Aqah.

“In receiving the awards, I proudly dedicate them to the great team at Al Aqah and commend them on their commitment towards our simple motto ‘every guest leaves happy’. The awards have been a great morale booster for the team,” said Antaki.

Le Méridien Al Aqah’s record win reflects its commitment to quality and consistently improving the facilities - based on guest feed back and input from staff - in spite of being a relatively new property, launched in 2002.

The annual awards ceremony celebrates the skills, creativity, ingenuity and triumph of the Middle East and North Africa’s growing travel industry, while honoring the successful entrants in each of the industry categories; and those who are considered to be the best in their specific sector.

Since the resort launched in December 2002, it has steadily increased its environmental initiatives and continually upgrades its leisure and conference facilities.
