Ayrshire welcomes new boutique hotel

Ayrshire’s first boutique hotel opens this Saturday (July 11), and Woodland Bay, the new £1m family-friendly four-star hotel on the coast outside Girvan, has a remarkable dinner, bed and breakfast offer for July and August to mark its opening.

The package is for Dinner, Bed and Breakfast for two people for two nights, including weekends, from just £169* all in.

Director Gillian Forbes (pictured) said: “It’s no mistake – it’s a cunning ploy. We’ve pitched the price ridiculously low because I want Scots to come, stay, have a wonderful time on the coast, and tell their friends about Ayrshire’s newest hotel plus the fab rooms, the food and the views, especially the amazing sunsets.

“Golfers, tourists, families and honeymooners are all welcome. As we’re a working farm, your dogs or horse are welcome too and your kids will love our child-friendly piglets Pumpkin and Peapod (also pictured)!”

The hotel has sixteen gorgeous rooms. Most have ocean views overlooking Ailsa Craig, with six-feet king-size or twin beds, colour TVs with satellite channels, broadband access, telephones, ironing centres, hospitality trays and en suite double shower rooms with heated towel rails and hairdryers.

Mezzanine and Honeymoon suites also have DVD/CD players, fridges, towelling bathrobes and slippers and a range of luxury toiletries.

Gillian added: “We’ve opened our fifty-seat Dining Room for evening meals from 6.30pm with last orders at 8.30. We have a terrific new a la carte menu to tantalise your tastebuds. As part of our “fresh from the field” philosophy, many of the raw ingredients come straight from the farm or from local suppliers.

“Fab starters - I love the prawn and crab lettuce rolls and smoked salmon and trout parcels. And equally divine are main courses such as spicy woodland lamb or her pan fried sea bass. And ladies – you’ll certainly find room for our own strawberries, the toffee pavlova or lemon lush pie. To die for!”
